About Ed
Ed’s 40-year business career spans several professional interests and successes, yet his through-line has consistently been about people and place. About helping people find their place in their world, their place to live well and their place to thrive. As a realtor, his commitment is no different.

Ed began creating this journey as a student at Harvard College where he decided rather than become an engineer like his father, he would, to the surprise of all, become an urban planner, with a focus on how place shapes people. Ed accomplished this dream at Princeton University where he studied new towns in the U.S. and Europe and received a joint masters degree in public affairs and urban planning. He then launched his professional career as a real estate developer, planning a 10,000 person new community on behalf of a wealthy family in the Mid-West.

Shortly thereafter, Ed made a career switch to venture capital and successfully managed venture capital investments on behalf of institutional investors for over 25 years. While doing so, he had the unique opportunity to finance and participate in the development of multiple types of real estate projects ranging from a condo complex to a medical office building to a 1 million square foot office tower. On his own account, he also was among the first to introduce condos to Boston’s South End, now one of Boston’s most desirable neighborhoods.

As a resident and business owner in Boston for over 40 years, Ed’s deep commitment to the Boston area drew him into its civic and social life in service to many of Boston’s leading nonprofit organizations as a trustee or director. He has served in such a capacity with the New England Aquarium, United Way, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Milton Academy, Sustainable Business Network of Mass. and BlueHub Capital (formerly Boston Community Capital). He has also served as a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and currently serves as a director and member of the executive committee of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable. During each of these tenures Ed has been an advocate for more inclusive service more equitably delivered to underserved communities, particularly those of color.

Today Ed’s journey continues much as it started; seeking ways to help people make changes in their lives so they can thrive in their best place. To do so he brings to bear the full weight of his networks, experiences, accumulated wisdom and highly regarded reputation for the benefit of his clients, whether they are selling, buying, investing, building or simply thinking through their future options. Ed relishes providing his clients with an exceptional life-changing experience.
