Bob and Berta Bower have been successfully selling Real Estate together in Silicon Valley since 1990. They joined Alain Pinel Realtors (APR) in 1993 when the company had only 2 local offices (Saratoga and Los Gatos). In May 2019 APR joined forces with Compass. Bob and Berta have been servicing both buyers and sellers of residential property. While they help their buyers negotiate for the lowest purchase price, they also assist their seller’s strategy by suggesting areas of their home that could be improved in order to increase the value and their net profit.
Throughout the years, their many clients have become friends. “It's not just about the transaction” Berta said. “What we like about real estate is getting to know people and developing a relationship”. Their philosophy is to help their clients accomplish their real estate goals. In return, their clients have been so pleased that approximately 90% of their business comes from referrals each year.
A little about Bob. He is originally from Phoenix. He was the owner of Western US Produce Company that grew, packed and shipped lettuce, serving Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. After many years of traveling and living out of a suitcase, he decided to leave the produce industry and pursue his real estate career. He was originally licensed in Arizona, and sold real estate in Gilbert, a suburb of Phoenix, until moving to San Jose in 1990 to be with Berta. Bob has one son and four grandkids that currently live in Phoenix and Cody, WY. He enjoys outdoor activities, like camping and hiking. He is also a partner in a property management company that serves residential real estate.
Berta grew up in the Bay area living in Belmont and then, Los Altos. She went to De Anza College, then attended California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo. Upon graduation she taught physical education and dance in the Fremont High School District in Cupertino. Concurrently she also taught dance at Foothill College. In 1980, as a young teacher, Berta was laid off due to the passing of Prop 13. She changed careers entering the human resource industry as a Technical and Permanent Placement Recruiter until 1985 when she was blessed with the birth of her daughter. In 1989, Berta received her real estate license. Berta’s daughter, Cherie, is now grown and married to her husband Sven. They have two wonderful children and Berta loves spending time with her grandson and granddaughter.
Bob and Berta met while attending a friends’ 40th birthday party, and two years later Bob moved to Northern California to be with Berta and to begin building a real estate business together. Bob and Berta’s passions are traveling the world. They have enjoyed traveling in Africa on Safari, a steam-paddle boat down the Amazon River, and also visiting Europe, South America and China. They continue to travel each year to rejuvenate from a busy real estate career. Bob and Berta Bower are truly a dynamic duo. Whether at home or at the office, their passion for life and their career shines through.
