About Anthony

When I tell people about my life journey thus far, specifically my educational background, they are usually left scratching their head saying, “How the heck did you end up in real estate!?” I would be lying if I didn’t admit that they had a point. Seriously, I mean I started off my undergraduate studies as a pre-med, Biomedical Sciences major. Medical school was the plan, and forty hours a week with my head buried in chemistry books was the way there. Summers were typically spent at home in Chicago shadowing surgeons in the operating room. In fact, I was fortunate enough to spend a few weeks of one summer in a small town in Peru. During this medical mission, I helped a team of doctors perform surgery on indigenous peoples from deep within the Peruvian rainforest.

I don’t know what I was more surprised to learn about—that prior to a typical surgery, the patient or a family member had to go to the pharmacy across the street and buy the surgical supplies, or that the hospital we were volunteering at had dirt floors up until the year before. I mean seriously, dirt floors in a hospital… What a perspective-altering trip that was! It reinforced my firm belief that it is through experiences like these that we as humans develop a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the world, and as a result, a deeper, more meaningful connection to each other.

And so the journey continues with, yes you guessed it, my decision not to go to medical school. I won’t bore you with the details of why I chose to not go, but I will tell you that it was certainly one of the toughest decisions of my life thus far. When it was all said and done, I found myself with a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University-Chicago. I decided to try out a semester of graduate school in a Clinical Psychology program. I liked it, but I didn't love it. Yet again, I found myself at square one. At this point, you may be wondering what any of this has to do with real estate. I promise I am getting there.

One could say that my entry into the real estate world started when I was a kid. My dad was a local home developer and I remember walking the job sites with him. I grew up surrounded by blueprints, paint swatches, and even the occasional trip around the block in a piece of construction equipment. Years later, when I was in high school, my parents opened up a boutique real estate company. My exposure to homes and the sales process continued to grow, even if I didn't realize it at the time. And as a result, I garnered a unique perspective of homes—what they are, what they can be, and most importantly what they should be, a HOME!

Finally, to the point—what all of this means for you. Since childhood I have developed a keen attention to detail, what some might call perfectionism. Whether it was spending countless hours a day in the library learning about some intangible, molecular concept, or currently typing, deleting, and retyping this very text, I am extremely detail-oriented. Eighteen years of playing hockey, combined with the competitive, demanding nature of pre-med coursework, instilled in me the value of hard work and the will to succeed. Moreover, a degree in psychology has given me a deeper understanding of human nature and decision-making. And most importantly, it has allowed me the opportunity to develop outstanding listening skills.

If I am fortunate enough to work with you, I promise to display the utmost degree of integrity, loyalty, and professionalism. I approach every facet of life with a nonjudgmental, open-hearted attitude. All of the qualities, attributes, and values that I have developed on my life journey give me a unique advantage—the ability to connect with most everyone. And to me, that is at the very core of real estate! Whether it’s about your property or the weather, give me a call, I am always happy to lend an open ear. You talk, I listen.
