About Camille

Happiness. Health. Success and wealth. This is my mantra. I am a believer that good things come to good people, and positive action leads to positive reaction. My business approach is no different and I treat all clients, regardless of budget, as if they were a friend of the family.

A Texas native, I transplanted to Chicago in 2004 on a scholarship to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. From the moment I stepped onto Chicago soil, coming from a little dirt-road town, I knew that from then on I would be a city girl. Since then, and after exploring various neighborhoods in the city, I have laid down some serious roots in the Logan Square neighborhood - living on my current block for almost a decade. You’ll often find me running in Humboldt Park or on the 606, at the McCormick YMCA with my girls swimming, having dinner/drinks on Armitage’s Restaurant Row, or in the (most likely) Wicker Park office working on deals, deals, deals.

I have a background in design and fine arts, as well as project management and marketing from my former life as a Director at Lillstreet Art Center, a community art center in Ravenswood. At the ripe-old-age of 24 I had a core position within the organization and shortly after purchased my first multi-unit building. Location, location, location is what they say, so we decided to buy an abandoned building on the right block and took on extensive renovations both with contractors and with a sledgehammer in hand more often than not. After conquering the rehab challenge, I came to terms with the fact that I share DNA with my family who happen to be uber-successful in the car dealership business (my body-building dad Jesse “Iron Man” Canales has been salesman of the month almost every month for the last twenty years, and my mom is a CFO of a dealership group). Not long after I got my real estate license and worked with some of the best, contributing to a top producing team and later forming one of my own along with my business partner Mark Buckner- forming the Buckner Canales Group.

Since our formal partnership in 2017 Mark and I having been packing a dynamic punch. Not only do we have personal experience with rehabs, multi-unit properties and building new construction, we work closely with developers on projects throughout the city. We do our homework, obsess over comps, and deliver prices that are on target for both buyers AND sellers. You want it. We’ll find it. You’ve got it. We’ll sell it. We project manage deals from contract to closing- and with a quirky smile on our face and the weight of the deal on our shoulders, not yours.
