A proud military spouse since 1990, Bonnie is no stranger to the stress and angst of moving to a new community. In fact, she has moved 12 times, purchasing and selling several homes along the way, as well as completing a major remodel of her current home. Whether moving across town, to a new state or to a new country, she understands the importance of finding a place to call home, where you feel a sense of community, and where your family can thrive. Bonnie has found such a place in the Mount Vernon area of northern Virginia, where she has lived for 14 of the last 17 years. She is excited to be a member of the Jennifer Halm Team and looks forward to helping other military families find the place where they call home.
Bonnie grew up in southeast Virginia. She graduated from Christopher Newport College with a degree in business, and also holds a diploma in Interior Planning from the Art Institute of Houston. Through work and volunteer experiences she has developed strong organizational skills, a keen eye for design, and a resourceful and adventurous spirit. A self-proclaimed DIY junkie, Bonnie loves the challenge of learning and mastering new skills.
She is married to the love of her life, Carl, and has raised two fine young men (Tom and Will, Eagle Scouts no less) who attend the Virginia Military Institute.
Bonnie is still searching for that perfect home: one that has a cleaning fairy that puts away the numerous shoes the three men in her life leave lying around to trip her up in the middle of the night, one with a refrigerator that magically replenishes the empty gallon of milk, and one that has a force field that repels animal fur from all of her clothing. When she finds that home, she plans to market it for a bazillion dollars and retire somewhere sunny and warm. In the meantime, you can find Bonnie pedaling along the George Washington Parkway bike trail enjoying the natural beauty our area has to offer or baking up a batch of chocolate ganache brownie bites. In addition, she likes to travel, read, garden, hike, swim and sew.
