"Ed Carp is an incredible realtor - he knows the DC market inside and out, can easily help you visualize changes you might make to a new property and did an amazing job with the of our condo. I have recommended Ed to least one other couple who found him to be equally fantastic. If you want to find and great property and sell your place quickly, listen and trust Ed."

"My husband and I have with Ed twice and bought with him twice. each of these exchanges, he was patient and he knew his stuff. We always felt like he was on our side and that he was giving us advice that most benefited us. Because of our desired school boundaries, we had to be picky with our geography. In our neighborhood few condos that meet our specs come on the market. Ed stuck with us months and never pressured us. We love his sense of humor and his candor. We highly recommend Ed."

"As a first-time home-buyer, I was petrified of the entire process. Luckily, I found Ed and it was smooth sailing from there! Ed walked us through every step of the way. He defies every stereotype of the pushy realtor looking to make an expensive . He listened to our needs, and even cautioned against us settling a place that checked the boxes, but that we weren't crazy about. He took us out multiple times and we saw dozens of places at a leisurely pace (he even sings along to Sinatra in the car!) Once we found our place, he sat down with us several hours to go over every aspect of the offer and various contracts. And when it came time to negotiate, he used his many years of expertise to make sure our offer came out on top. Ed is super responsive, incredibly knowledgeable, and honestly a joy to spend time with. Whether you are looking a starter condo, or doing a big deal - there is literally no one better. I cannot recommend Ed highly enough."

"Ed was a wonderful real estate agent; smart, generous and fun! We can’t say enough about his professionalism and overall knowledge of DC real estate. We were first time home buyers who had only lived in the district four years. He walked us through every step of the way, never pressuring us at any step in the process. With his years of real estate experience in the district he was able to give us the scoop on many of the neighborhoods that we had never even considered. With his vast experience with renovating homes in the district he was invaluable in helping us quickly estimate costs of potential renovations. This allowed us to compare houses that, with a relatively small amount of renovation, could fit our needs. He takes his time and he made sure to find a place that matched our wants and needs with our budget. After four months in our new place we couldn’t be happier with our purchase."

"My wife and I worked with Ed when we bought our first home. He made the entire process enjoyable. He was knowledgeable, available, and acted as our advocate throughout the entire process. When we need another agent, we will definitely go back to Ed."

About Ed
Ed moved to Washington from Long Island, NY in the summer of 1992. In 1997 Ed bought a 3,000 sq. ft. office space at the corner of Kalorama and Champlain Streets in Adams Morgan (just off 18th St.) He slowly turned the office space into a pretty cool, industrial loft-type home and loved every minute of it. Buying and renovating that place changed Ed’s financial life, and he began talking various friends into buying real estate. In 2000, he quit his job and went into real estate full time. His goal wasn’t just to become another real estate agent but to be a resource for first-time buyers and take some of the fear out of buying a home.

Ed is extremely proud of the way he has developed his business. Ed has a very committed cadre of clients, many of whom refer him to their friends, eliminating the need to advertise for new clients. With sincere respect for his clients, Ed tries to always be mindful of what a daunting process buying or selling a home can be. Ed feels very lucky to have found real estate as a career and doesn’t take any of its benefits for granted. Ed said that he truly likes real estate and that is why he does well at it.

In his free time Ed loves to travel: the more exotic the place the better. He has been to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Dubai, Istanbul, Tokyo, Iceland, Bangkok, Singapore, India as well as many European countries. He has a friend that teaches at Oxford University, and he finds himself traveling to England often, he loves everything British. Still on his list of places to visit are Shanghai, Zanzibar and the Arctic Circle. Most of Ed’s clients are also a well-traveled group.

Ed has been named a Top Agent by Washingtonian Magazine every year since 2017, and has been recognized as a Washingtonian Magazine ”Best Agent” (there are only one hundred named annually in the Greater Capital area,) since 2021.
