About Jared

My name is Jared Hocker.  I grew up in Elkhorn which is where I graduated from High School.  Go Elks!! Upon getting my Degree in Marketing from Gateway Technical College, I took a job with a Marketing company in Park City, UT.  I spent 7 years off and on in the mountains chasing the snow, as I’m an avid skier and thrill seeker.  Mixed in there were times in Europe, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Davis, California.  As fortunate as I was to have traveled to many different places, family health issues brought me back to Walworth county.  I met and married my wife Cortney, who is also from Elkhorn.  We have a daughter who inspires me to be the best I can be every day, and gosh is she cute!!

For quite a while, my profession has been customer service.  More specifically, restaurant management.  As a focus, I have acquired my Level one certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers, and  I have been a participant of Culinary Fight Club.  The team I was on won the People’s Choice award at the Milwaukee competition which qualifies us to participate in other events.  We took part in an event in Chicago, which makes us eligible to go to Alabama for another event this year.

My motivation for getting into real estate really began when my parents decided it was time to downsize from the house they had lived in for almost 40 years.  Absolutely nothing went right with the transaction, and my parent were getting very frustrated with the whole experience.  The agent who helped in the process stayed very patient and very reassured them they were in good hands.  Ultimately, the property sold and they were able to get into a place that suits them much better.  After that, I decided that I would really like to help people in the same way.  My patience, work ethic, diligence, and motivation are some of the attributes to show that I would be the right agent for you.

•  I’m starting a new career in real estate.  I’m hoping to grow and gain experience to be the agent who will meet the needs of clients in whatever capacity needed.

•  With 7 years of restaurant management under my belt, I feel that I truly know the ins and outs of Customer Service.  I get along with people and I truly think I know how to satisfy people’s wants and needs, but still understand a budget.

•  Communication is also a key component of any transaction.  Communication and artful supervision make me a people’s person.  My listening skills and ability to truly understand what is trying to be expressed, even if it’s not directly explained.

•  Being able to adapt to a situation is one of my strong suits.  In restaurants, things can get very chaotic and it’s always been one of my greatest assets is to keep everyone calm by staying calm and helping out wherever I’m needed.  Just because it’s not my area, doesn’t mean I won’t help out in any way possible.  I feel this can translate and be a real asset in real estate.  Thinking outside the box will help me help you.

I was born and raised here in Elkhorn. My dad was the woodshop teacher in Elkhorn for many years.  My ties to Elkhorn and the community go back to when you went home when the streetlights came on.  I enjoy meeting new people and helping out in any way that I can. I have very good local knowledge and am willing to share with anyone.

A lot of us have had family members who have fallen ill.  My family man, teacher, dad is currently dealing with early onset Alzheimer’s.  He has touched so many people in his life.  When it came time to sell their house, it was a hard decision to make.  He was the one who always took care of any issue with the house.  Whether it be a hot water heater, furnace, leaky pipe, or whatever else; he just handled it.  It has been hard to watch him slow down. Sometimes just that little extra time and care make the transaction easier on someone who may need a little extra assistance.  I am willing to take the time and I have the patience to help in any situation that may arise.

Some of my hobbies include:

• Skiing     • Boating     • Woodworking     • Mountain Biking

Real Estate:

• Focus on Rental Properties

• Local Knowledge

• Looking to help people find their forever home
