About Joe
Joe Tirone was hand-selected to partner with Compass as their founding Broker on Staten Island, NYC after 20 years of owning his own successful brokerage on the Island. As leader of the The Joe Tirone Team, he remains an influencer in the press (ABC News, Yimby, NY1, SI Advance, Industry Mag) for his Residential real estate achievements and Commercial leadership in shaping the SI Waterfront new development.

Achieving top 1% of REALTORS nationwide, Joe has been selected to serve on the 2022 Business Issues Policy Committee for NAR as well as a Legislative Policy Member and NYC Issues Working Committee Member for NYSAR. Joe served as ambassador for the 2021 Housing Summit by SIEDC. Joe has also served as an Executive Board Member for Staten Island Board of Realtors and Board Member for NY State Association of Realtors during his career

Joe has been a guest speaker for Columbia University on housing resiliency and is a proud member of The President’s Society at Pace University where he earned his BBA in Accounting, as well having membership in the McLaughlin Society at St John’s University, where he earned his MBA in Finance. He has also since taught economics as an adjunct professor. Joe fiercely advocates for individuals with intellectual disabilities and regularly supports The Grace Foundation and A Very Special Place and is also a board member for CDFI. His 20-year affiliation with The Travis Roy Foundation and their support of spinal cord injury survivors research, you find Joe donating, fundraising as well as competing as a pitcher at their annual Wiffle Ball tournament in Vermont. Most importantly, Joe is the proud father of three daughters and plays an active role in each of their lives.

Joe is also a philanthropic and influential outreach advocate to his local communities. He strategically advocates for workforce housing on Staten Island and receives ongoing recognition for his response to COVID-19 emergency supply needs as well as his 2013 homeowner initiative in response to Superstorm Sandy. Joe organized the first-ever successful community-led buyout program, helping 550 Sandy families receive pre-storm value for their flood-ravaged homes. Joe is a Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) Community Service Award recipient and was also recognized by the Staten Island Advance as one of the Top 10 Most Influential People for his past efforts.
