Karen Dome joined Compass as Vice President to lead and expand the firm’s newly launched Commercial Division alongside Adelaide Polsinelli & Ronda Rogovin. A strong leader in the industry for more than 25 years, Ms. Dome has brokered investment sales, asset management and dispositions of assets in excess of $1 billion. She has served as a real estate advisor for owners, REIT’s and other institutional investors offering expertise in the purchase and sale of office, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, development, retail and net-leased assets. Compass has over 140 offices across more than 20 regions in the nation. With rapid commercial expansion plans, Compass continues to look for opportunities to grow the Commercial Division. Compass has built the first modern real estate technology platform and brings together the best of both a brokerage and a startup.
Prior to joining Compass, Ms Dome was Managing Principal at Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors and a Senior Associate at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services. Earlier in her career, she founded an investment sales firm, Justdan Realty, specializing in the acquisition and disposition of assets in the not-for-profit sector. During her six years at GVA Williams she had been extensively involved in acquisitions, development, leasing, and asset management. During her work for Sumitomo Realty and Developments N.Y. Inc. for 13 years, she was responsible for the asset management and the leasing of over 5 million square feet of Class A properties. She also advised on asset position and disposition. Ms. Dome is a former two-time president of the New York chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women’s Network – NY (CREW NY), a national association with a membership of more than 11,000+ industry professionals worldwide. She has chaired the Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) Commercial Management Council and has been an active member of the New York Building Congress and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Karen lives in Brooklyn with her husband and has three children.
