About David

Born and raised in Uppsala, Sweden, David's lifelong dream was to live in Southern California. By way of the University of Florence in Italy, then to University of California San Diego where he finished his degree in International Studies David has made that dream a reality. A world traveler and adventure enthusiast, his warm and friendly personality has made him slip easily into the California lifestyle and has made it his home for the past 15 years.

An avid free diver and surfer, David's passion for the ocean is a lifestyle. From crafting custom handmade surfboards out of organic balsa wood and agave, to teaching adults and children to surf. Needless to say he knows the coastline of Los Angeles county very well. His expertise is in the neighborhoods of Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Santa Monica and Venice Beach.

David's excitement for real estate came when he took a 5bdrm/3bath 1920's Beach House and turned it into an Airbnb with multiple listings. The beach house has now been the vacation destination of over 1500 guests from all over the world and sustained over 90% 5 star ratings.

As a realtor, David seeks to exceed your expectations in every way. Practicing prompt and clear communication, displaying and marketing your home beautifully through the best channels while searching diligently for your next property he will always go above and beyond to negotiate the best deal. Backed by a great team here at the John Aaroe Group he never hesitates to reach out for support in any area to ensure that your needs are met to the highest standards in the industry.

David owes his success in business to his practices in his recreational life, one of the most challenging being big wave surfing. After finishing his degree at the University of California San Diego he started following Gary Linden, a former president of the Association of Surfing Professionals, founder of the Big Wave World Tour and master surfboard shaper. Surfing big waves, he learned the practice of staying calm in any and all situations, a skill that has turned him into a rock solid problem solver who thinks rationally and always seeks out the best solution balancing minimized risk and maximized outcome. As Gary's assistant David experienced the business side of the surf world, one notable experience was the acquisition of Gary's brain child, The Big Wave World Tour' bought by the World Surfing League. This experience taught David a lot about negotiating. David brings these negotiating skills to the table in every real estate transaction.

Also a lover of dogs and hiking, he is involved with an organization that provides group hikes and mountain adventures for dogs in the Santa Monica mountain range, so if you see him on the hill don't hesitate to say hello!
