"I wanted to take a few minutes to comment on my experience with Larry Burns, whom I feel did a tremendous job in selling my property at 77 Montauk Ave. in Westerly. To be specific, there were 4 ways in which Larry was outstanding:
1. Responsiveness: In this new age of text messaging (which is : overused in my opinion) Larry answered hiss phone a good portion of the time, and when I left voicemails, he returned my calls within an hour. To me, answering the phone is HUGE and it’s surprising how few other realtors answer the phone when it rings anymore.
2. Professionalism; Larry didn’t always tell me what I wanted to hear, but he told me what I needed to know with regard to the current market conditions and how they affected my property’s value. I’m aware of how unrealistic expectations can be costly in the long run and his discipline in this area I’m sure helped me to get a strong price for the home in the least amount of time.
3. Commitment to Service: Larry went the extra mile with his research of comparable properties by visiting them in person to ensure that no stones were left unturned and that nothing was left to the imagination in terms of features and condition. He also helped out in several other ways and earned my trust as we navigated our way through the process.
4. Consideration: As a youngster, a lot of my own sweat and blood went into the construction and maintenance of this house. I spent every summer there from the time I was 8 years old until my career took me to Florida when I was 28. That house was in the family for 46 years and I felt as though it was (and still is0 a part of me. The summers spent at Misquamicut are without a doubt, the most treasured memories of my life. The fact that my parents we a big part of this and they recently passed on added to the emotional element. Although selling the house was the most practical decision for me given all of the factors, it was nevertheless an emotional one made very reluctantly. Larry struck the right balance between demonstrating his sensitivity to my situation while also being realistic with regard to the matters at hand. He conducted himself not only as a professional, but also as a friend.
