About Mandy
Mandy Mills was born in Chapel Hill, NC and spent much of her youth moving around the country with her United States Air Force father, mother and brother. Ultimately they settled in the Atlanta area, where Mandy graduated from Walton High in Marietta.

She then returned to Chapel Hill to study Journalism, graduating from the University of North Carolina with a B.A. in 1997. After a stint as a dive instructor in Chapel Hill and Belize, Mandy moved to Washington, DC, where she began working at Roland House, a leading independent video post-production facility. There she managed broadcast design projects for PBS, the Discovery Channel, National Geographic and documentary films. From there she would move on to work with a DC-based filmmaker, who on the side, was renovating homes and flipping them. Mandy soon realized that this work was something that truly spoke to her.

In 2002, she began working as the office assistant at the downtown ReMax office, helping to prepare contracts and learning the ins and outs of real estate sales and processes. Once she earned her license, she quickly became one of the office’s leading , known for her excellent ability to match buyers with available homes that they would love. In 2005, after a year of casual conversations, she partnered with a local agent, David Getson, and joined the brand new boutique agency, Hounshell Real Estate.

In 2006, they added their first assistant and in 2007, officially became the Mandy & David Team, in response to the demands of the marketplace. With their business continuing to grow, they moved three blocks to the downtown Coldwell Banker office in 2011, which offered them both more resources and the strength of the firm’s international name recognition.

In 2011, they were the #1 Coldwell Banker in DC and were included in the Wall Street Journal’s list of the Top 250 Real Estate Teams in the Country, with just over $51 Million in sales. In 2012, they topped $100 Million in sales, placing them in the Top 10 of Coldwell Banker nationwide and at #90 in the country on the Wall Street Journal list.

Mandy lives in Washington DC’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood with her husband and two children.
