About Mario
In the early 1970's I began buying and selling real estate but never considered where this avocation would take me. It took an operation and a lengthy recuperation to prompt the following. It was time was to make a career change. Although I was proud of my service as Regional Vice President of Marketing for a large business association, I wanted to work directly with consumers. After reviewing many possibilities, the idea of becoming a Realtor was an easy decision. I took my experience as both real estate investor and marketing expert to a local firm called Gallagher & Lindsey. As a Realtor and a sales associate for the company, I was soon accomplishing my goals. The rest is history. The closing of Gallagher & Lindsey offered a silver lining—a wonderful company by the name of Compass. I was born and raised in Alameda. On a football scholarship I was fortunate enough to play Professional Football in both Canada and the US. Later, I returned to my California home where my wife Wendy and I raised three beautiful children. Gina, M.J. and Natalie are all now adults with their own careers of which I'm very proud. In my spare time, I'm an avid outdoorsman with a passion for conservation. I also promote and assist the California Water Fowl Association. My grandparents came to Alameda from Luca in Italy. In fact, the Mariani family boasts five generations in the USA, California, and the island City of Alameda, where I was one of the first three inductees into the Encinal High School Sports Hall of Fame. As a Realtor, I've received company awards for sales performance. In the community, I'm a member of the Chamber of Commerce. I also work intimately with my high school alumni association and the Miracle League. Through this newly formed committee of which I am also a board member, I'll be assisting in the creation of a sports field for physically challenged children. I also serve on the West Alameda Business Association Board, Greater Alameda Business Association Board, and the Economic Development Board for West End Alameda. With no regrets, turning my avocation into a career gave me the opportunity to do something I love—"Stress Free Real Estate". Let's get down to business!
