As a third generation Bay Area native and real estate professional, Melissa Lynch is deeply grounded in the land and community of the region; and, she is generous in sharing her knowledge and resources with her clients. Her father was one of the first general contractors to develop the Holiday Lake Estates neighborhood of Morgan Hill in the 70s. He designed and built many of the custom homes overlooking Lake Anderson; and, he went on to design and build many custom homes throughout the greater Bay Area, Northern California and beyond. Raised in an environment wherein creativity, skill and business were interwoven together, Melissa’s inspiration for, and knowledge of real estate sparked during her early childhood.
A graduate of local schools and universities, including UC Santa Cruz (bachelors) and Santa Clara University (two masters’ degrees), she understands the distinctions between the school systems and districts of Santa Clara County, and knows their unique pedagogical approaches. Previous to her real estate career, Melissa worked as a dedicated secondary school teacher in Santa Clara County for 15 years. Upon graduating from Santa Clara University’s Education program, with a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Education (emphasis Curriculum and Instruction), as well as holding a California dual credential in ELA (English Language Arts) and Social Science, her teaching career was born within the Jesuit Catholic schools of Santa Clara County. In was within this high academic environment that she was encouraged by established academics and scholars to write curriculum professionally. And she did. Initially, she wrote literary units for religious studies courses. Then, she made the transition to public education, wherein she became the practical and theoretical bridge between the English and Social Science departments. She wrote meaningful secondary curriculum for the core subjects of English and Social Science extensively, which was customized for California public schools. Much of what she wrote during these years is currently used throughout the county and beyond. Given her experience in the field of education, Melissa is intimately aware of the schools and school districts, as well as the distinctions between the public and private schools within the county. She will help you navigate through these complicated systems with first-hand, grounded knowledge.
