Karen McCarthy started her real estate career in 2002 as an investor in Islamorada, Florida, and has spent the last 15 years at high levels of success in the industry. After acquiring her real estate license in 2004, she began to move quickly up the ranks of luxury hotel and hospitality residential properties. From the Marquis to Canyon Ranch Living, Karen’s breadth of early experience created opportunities for her to develop expertise in all sectors from general real estate to pre-construction and large developments.
Consistently ranked as a top producer since the beginning of her career, Karen has experience working in real estate sales both in Miami and abroad. In 2009, the former head of marketing at Canyon Ranch recognized her talent and invited Karen to join the sales team for Jade, Manuel Antonio located in Costa Rica. After returning to Miami, she moved into a Director of Sales role of the Mondrian, South Beach Residences, and used her natural leadership talents to cultivate a team of motivated closers. She made the switch to general real estate shortly after she achieved success at the Mondrian, and was named a Top Producing Agent in the years that followed.
Karen’s approach to her real estate business is authentic and sincere. Many of her clients have become friends, and she prides herself on being a fair and honest professional throughout the process of buying or selling property. Her areas of focus range from pre-construction to general real estate from the Biscayne Corridor to Miami Beach, Brickell, Coral Gables, and Coconut Grove. By using her extensive experience in the industry to guide her clients with regards to their desires and the market fluctuations, her top priority is creating a customer experience where she ensures that her clients are able to achieve their real estate goals. She is also an expert in the highly specialized area of estate and probate real estate transactions, which often have their own set of challenges requiring the skills of an experienced real estate consultant.
As someone who cares deeply for the Miami community where she lives and works, Karen always donates part of her commission from each deal closed to one of the many charities she actively supports. She also manages to find time to volunteer and give back to organizations such as The Make a Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Big Brother Big Sisters, PETA, The Humane Society, Planned Parenthood, and Farm Sanctuary. Karen received her degree in Design and Fine Arts from the International Design Academy, where she graduated magna cum laude.
