M.J. is a fourth-generation native San Franciscan who grew up and raised her own family in Pacific Heights and currently resides in Laurel Heights. She has a son, two daughters, and two grandchildren. She attended Katherine Delmar Burke School, the University of Lausanne and is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley majoring in French literature and art history.
She has been a homeowner and investor in the City since the late ’60s. In the 1990’s she converted a two-unit building to condominiums.
M.J. has served on the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels and the Hamlin School. She is a former member of the San Francisco Junior League and The Girls Recreation Club which raised funds for Children’s Hospital (now CPMC). She serves on the Board of Directors on the Laurel Heights Neighborhood Association. She is also a member of the California Tennis Club. M.J. is an avid golfer, bridge player and enjoys entertaining friends at her home.
