Since graduating from the University of Chicago in 1980, I have alternated living in New York and Europe. I purchased my first co-op apartment in 1987, where for three years I was president of the Board of Directors. Work then took me to Paris, France, where I was a Principal Administrator for the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development for ten years. Upon returning to New York in 2000, I began to invest in real estate. This avocation quickly became my chosen profession and I began working for the Corcoran Group in 2002.
I take great pride and pleasure in representing owners in the sale of their homes or investment properties. I believe that the highest possible price is achieved through a complete understanding of the property, a marketing plan that brings these strengths to the forefront and an approach to negotiating that is flexible and corresponds to the specific situation at hand.
When it comes to negotiating a sale, one size does not fit all, and every situation must be considered individually.
When working with buyers, I strive to take the burden off their shoulders. I find only suitable properties, schedule the showings, ensure that buyers have all the market data they need to make an informed decision. Once the contract is signed, I help them navigate all the steps to closing – from obtaining a mortgage to passing the board interview.
I thoroughly believe that the deepest knowledge comes through hands-on experience. Consequently, in my real estate career I have:
-- owned, renovated and sold, brownstones and townhouses;
-- owned condos as a personal residence and investment property;
-- owned co-ops as both a personal residence and sponsor units;
-- done ground up construction for mixed use commercial buildings;
-- owned rent stabilized apartment buildings and converted rental buildings to condominiums;
-- brought to market six new condominium projects with more than 300 units.
