I am thrilled to join Compass as a member of The Haber Team, an award-winning, nationally ranked team consistently named to REAL Trends/The Wall Street Journal’s prestigious list of top thousand real estate teams in the country and The Real Deal’s top 75 NYC brokers in 2016.
My approach to real estate draws on my twin passions: art and interior spaces.
People often ask me: "How do art and real estate go together”? Culture and creativity are the connective fibers that weave together new ideas in fine art, design and architecture, and my experience as a curator, art dealer and art advisor has infinitely informed my values in real estate.
Design links taste and culture, with the shape of history. Being advised by someone with a passion for both interior design and fine art gives the client resources, the type of professional guidance that opens an opportunity to create a home attaining a certain aesthetic, and the ability to imagine, reinvent, and transform a space to fit a desired lifestyle or a mood.
It also affords you the taste level to make smart aesthetic choices. Because even with the biggest space money can buy in Manhattan, taste matters: Does it break away in the right proportions? Is the architecture commensurate with the needs of your family?
I have been in New York for 21 years, and worked around the world, from Beijing to Moscow to Tel Aviv and the United Nations in the realms of contemporary art, media, nonprofit management, executive coaching, Russian/English translation, and teaching. Beginning in 2010, I launched a career in the arts, and by 2014 fulfilled my dream as a gallerist in West Chelsea, curating among contemporary and mid career masters works by Basquiat, Willem deKooning, Kazimir Malevich, John Chamberlain, Cindy Sherman, Julian Schnabel, Ai Weiwei, Dustin Yellin, Kiki Smith, and Yoshitomo Nara..
My love of real estate began as I started advising friends and clients by referral, offering sellers the opportunity to stage listings with unique artworks to give the property a visual dynamic that draws on world-class works of art.
From a management perspective, I learned that just as running a gallery is a team process -- installers, curators, registrars, advisors, and historians must work collaboratively and synergistically to get the job done. Real estate is similarly team-oriented. The ideal real estate team brings together experts across multiple disciplines who advise, negotiate, elevate, and support each client throughout the transaction to ensure an intelligent and seamless process. I envision this partnership as a "bespoke" experience, curated for each client by myself and The Haber Team.
