Shep joined Compass after 10 years at Sotheby’s. Working with some of the top brokers in the city, he gained invaluable insight in terms of business styles, range of clients, and the nuances associated with complex deals. Shep went independently armed with knowledge and attention to detail in handling all aspects of NYC residential transactions on both the buy and sell side. He is intimately familiar with selling the full range of properties including townhouses, cooperatives, downtown lofts and new development. His clients benefit from in-depth market analysis, strengthened by the best-in-industry tools at Compass, and access to the best resources in construction, design, financing, legal and estate planning.

Raised in New England, with most of his childhood in Providence, RI, Shep went to prep-school in Western Mass and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT with a B.A. in Political Science and a Spanish minor. Fluent in Spanish, Shep lived abroad in Spain and the Dominican Republic, and travels extensively. Prior to real estate, he headed up the Latin America and Caribbean territory for the Putumayo World Music label.
An avid athlete, Shep played competitive lacrosse and soccer in school and continues to play a range of racquet games (squash, court tennis, tennis & racquets). He is also a golfer and a marathon runner. Shep volunteers for several organizations like StreetSquash, Harlem Lacrosse, Back-on-my-Feet-Again NYC, Church of the Ascension Food Pantry & First Presbyterian Homeless Shelter. He is on the Vestry at the Church of the Ascension, an Episcopal church in Greenwich Village. Painting, guitar and photography satisfy his creative side. A Brooklyn resident for 12 years, Boerum Hill is home to him.
