Susan Henley is an award winning Realtor. She has received Philadelphia Magazine’s Five Star Agent Award for six years running. For more than eleven years, Susan has helped families from Philadelphia to the Main Line and beyond buy and sell homes with confidence. Susan personally handles every detail of marketing her listings. She is a luxury home specialist and an accredited home staging professional. Her real estate marketing expertise and negotiating skill have helped her many clients receive top dollar for their homes in the shortest time possible.
Susan is personally familiar with the challenges of relocating, buying, selling and renovating homes. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Susan moved to the Philadelphia area 22 years ago and has moved locally since then. As a result, Susan has real insight into what her clients are going through. “I can easily think back to the questions I had when I moved here, and the various questions about a complex process I knew very little about. Because of this, I like to educate my clients and walk them step by step through the home buying and selling process. I want it to be as stress-free as possible.”
Susan graduated from Thomas Jefferson University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse, her most rewarding experience was at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, working with high-risk pregnancies and fetal-surgery patients. “This was a difficult time for these ladies, they could be hospitalized for many weeks, but that gave me more time to get to know them. My goal was to keep them healthy and make them comfortable. The greatest reward was when they went home with a healthy baby.”
As much as Susan loved working as a health professional, her real passion was closer to home: homes, home design and decor. “I was a real estate buff before ever getting into the business.” A close family member, who herself is a successful Realtor, encouraged Susan to pursue a career in real estate. “It may seem as though the two careers are polar opposite; but, as I thought about how I like to treat my clients, many of the same skills have carried over from my nursing career: attention to detail, caring, professionalism and advocacy. Now, as a Realtor, I get to help people with one of the most important choices they will make, finding their home. I find it extremely rewarding.”
Susan spends time in the community volunteering with The Junior League of Philadelphia and The Academy of Music. She has been honored to receive the Sustainer of the Year and the President’s Cup awards from the Junior League, as well as the Prudential Cares Volunteer Award for her many volunteer efforts.
