"James was extremely enthusiastic and diligent about helping me find a home. He listened to my needs and wants and did his best to find many properties for me to look at. In the end, we found the perfect home! The sale was a complicated process and James kept me 'in the loop' of what was happening on the seller's end every step of the way. It was a pleasure working with him and I would certainly recommend him!"
"We worked with James to find a weekend home in the Rhinebeck / Red Hook / Millbrook area. The process of working with him was a pleasure from beginning to end. He is from this area, so he knows the region, the people, the other brokers. He is extremely patient, and never tried to push us to a purchase decision - rather, he helped us evaluate each property to get us to the right answer. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend James to anyone in search of a property in this area."
Roland James grew up in Pine Plains, New York, and his career in real estate started at a young age with a passion for conservation and the outdoors. James attended The Millbrook School and went on to St. Lawrence University where he graduated from in 2015. His extensive knowledge of Dutchess County, and a crucial understanding of land conservation, make him a perfect candidate for the job. James attributes much of his early success in the real estate industry due to his use of technology, and his ability to incorporate cutting edge marketing and advertising techniques. James prides himself on his ability to go above and beyond for his clients, ensuring a smooth transaction throughout the buying and selling process. James had worked for his father’s art gallery, Luhring Augustine, located on the lower west side of Manhattan and in Bushwick, Brooklyn. His mother, Kathleen V. Augustine, previously served on the board of directors at The Dutchess Land Conservancy, and currently sits on the advisory board. Roland’s older brother, Sam Augustine, also works in the residential real estate industry with Compass, based out of Aspen, Colorado. James values the lifestyle that comes with land ownership in Dutchess County, and some of his passions include fly-fishing, archery, tennis, golf, biking, and photography. His support extends to The Dutchess Land Conservancy, The Cary Institute, The Millbrook School, The Tamerack Preserve, The Millbrook Hunt, Fitches Corners, and The Mashomack Preserve. James currently lives on Sunnyside Farm located in Pine Plains, New York.
