Under Bob Gerlach's leadership, Alain Pinel's Palo Alto office was consistently been one of the top producing branches within the company's network of offices. Bob has led and built three offices, all of which quickly became the leading offices in their marketplace, during two decades of management. Mr. Gerlach comes from a real estate family and began his career working at Fox & Carskadon from 1977 to 1992. After working as a sales agent, he moved quickly through the management ranks. In 1981 he became the assistant manager of Fox & Carskadon's San Mateo office and in 1983 became the manager of the Los Altos office until 1986, when he opened their Palo Alto office. The Palo Alto office became one of the most successful offices within Fox & Carskadon and was recognized both locally and nationally at the time.

He joined Alain Pinel Realtors - now Compass - in 1992, when he was recruited to open the company's Palo Alto office. As a manager, he enjoys seeing the personal and professional growth of sales agents as they succeed in the competitive high-end market. Mr. Gerlach holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of California at San Diego. He also served as Palo Alto District Chair for the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors Born and raised in the Bay Area, Mr. Gerlach lives in Hillsborough with his wife, Bonnie, and their young son, Tyler.
