"If you're going to choose an agent, make sure it is Stanley because he is amazing! Stanley is like the McDonalds of Real Estate - 24/7 and everywhere. He does not seem to sleep, which is good for first-time homebuyers because you can get information at any time! I was a first-time homebuyer and knew nothing - absolutely nothing. They don't teach you how to buy a house in school - they teach you capital markets and derivatives, etc. I didn't even know what a purchase contract was, so when Stanley mentioned it, I just did the usual "nod as if you understand" movement. Contingency? I had to defer to dictionary.com for the definition and still didn't understand. Make an offer? I envisioned one of those TV shows where you talk to the seller up front and whoever yells the loudest, wins. Basically, I was a total newbie in case you haven't figured that out by now. I purchased my condo on October 27th. The process took about four months in total from open houses to making offers to closing. Stanley was both the buyers agent and the listing agent.
