"If you’re pretty, you’re pretty; but the only way to be beautiful is to be loving. Otherwise, It’s just “congratulations about your face.” - John Mayer

Hi Friends.

I'm such a cry baby! Turns out, this may be part of the reason that I haven’t gotten the Coronavirus. When I would cry as a child, my dad would say that if I wanted something to cry about, he would give me something worth crying over. That is code for “your feelings have no validity.” So loving and understanding, I know!

Once I was old enough to understand how ridiculous that is, I gave myself permission to cry for any damn reason I felt like. Tears of joy, surprise, sorrow, defeat, victory, love and appreciation to name a few. Don’t be surprised if you and your loved ones are finding themselves in tears more often than pre-Covid19.

Instead of looking at this as “doing worse,” consider that it may just be the thing keeping you happy and healthy. Just like exercise is good for your body and mind, turns out that crying is also good for you! Did you know that stress hormones are found in tears, and so crying literally releases pent-up emotional stress? Crying also lowers cortisol levels and can protect you from getting sick. So, use this as my permission to feel your feelings and for goodness sakes, if there was ever a perfect time to “ugly cry,” it is during quarantine!

Tea in the Neighborhood

How is the market?

It is too soon to understand the impact that Covid-19 will have on the residential real estate market. The following data represents the sales price/list price ratios in 6 Houston neighborhoods for the month of March 2020. I will be following this each month to see if these ratios go down during the coming months. Want to know more specifics for your neighborhood?

Simply reply to this email and we can discuss.

Even though it seems to be harrowing, there are still transactions happening in our city. We recently closed on one of our favorite million dollar listings. Incase you haven't seen it yet, check out this article, on my brand new website,

We are so grateful for everyone who came by our Food Drive last week! Watch the Re-Cap video here. We had over 2 huge SUV loads full to give. We are still accepting monetary donations, too. Donate here to help us give even more!

Currently I'm...

Wearing jewelry, and probs a little too much!

Even when I had my Marnie Rocks jewelry line, I didn’t wear much jewelry. Since then, I have stayed with my one pair of diamond earrings that I designed and had made for myself, my sister Lauren and my daughter Remi. We all three have a pair and it's a little something that reminds us of each other. Lately, I have been loading up on baubles from Artizan Joyeria.

Even when I am working from home, in my favorite joggers, I throw on layers of chains, big, bold rings, and bracelets. It makes me feel like a bad ass plotting a huge bank robbery or something from the comfort of my home. I'm channeling the character in Oceans 8 who is smart, fierce, a business wizard and determined.

Local Spotlight

In the spirit of giving back, I am really inspired by my friends over at Macaron by Patisse who are doing their part in supporting our local health heroes. For only $20 you can purchase a box of macarons to be sent to the local hospitals with handwritten notes of encouragement. What a treat!

Have an awesome Monday.
