You’ve Found a Great Deal. But Is It the Right Apartment for You? |
| We all love a deal. Just look in the back of your clothes closet, and you’re sure to find some never-worn sale items still sporting their price tags. While we can be cavalier about fashion temptations, being swayed by a deeply discounted apartment listing requires the most careful consideration. Rash decision-making can have lasting disappointment – and one of my roles is occasionally to keep buyers away from bad decisions.
It’s not that unusual for a listing to surface that’s hundreds of thousands of dollars less than the owner paid for it - or priced substantially less than competitive apartments, While there are all kinds of reasons behind a price-drop, there’s really only one big issue for buyers to address: Is this an apartment that will satisfy my needs for years to come? - a home that’s all about comfort and not compromise.
Here’s what I tell my clients: Don’t get swept up by a deep discount that makes you overlook your priorities… like bigger bedrooms for a growing family, high ceilings, sunny views, a smart layout, sufficient storage, a well-run building, and more.
Spending more than you originally planned. You’re making an investment for a beautiful future – and a realistic uptick in your buying budget can lead to a listing that satisfies just about everything on your wish list. Timely amenities, move-in condition, a more desirable neighborhood – they enhance life every day. When mortgage rates get lower, you’ll have the opportunity to refinance. Down the road, there’s always the potential of chance of selling at a nice profit (or keeping the asset as a rental property.
I’m here to guide you every step of the way. Finding the home you’ve always wanted takes careful consideration – and the guiding expertise of a real estate pro who truly understands the market and what’s important for you. That’s the deal every buyer deserves! |
