The Giant Dipper, the Big Dipper, the roller coaster, lots of names for one of the funnest rides. My first time on this ride was in second grade. We got to go to the Boardwalk every year at the end of the school year. It has come a long way now, with great safety restraints. My second-grade ride had a leather belt barely holding us in. I am a huge fan, and we go at least once a summer, if not more. If you don't ride the rides, just walking the Boardwalk is fun, and the ice cream is good too!
On that subject, the real estate market is pretty much the same way: ups and downs and curves. Right now, we are dipping into a buyer's market in terms of inventory; it is really filling up. What remains is to see if prices will dip as well.
If you have a chance, try to get down to the Boardwalk and take a ride or two! It is summer all year long there! |

| As of early April 2025, market conditions remain volatile amid rising interest rates, shaken consumer confidence, and broader financial uncertainty. Mortgage rates climbed significantly in 2023 and early 2024, briefly easing before surging again in early 2025 following new tariffs and immigration policies. These changes are expected to increase home construction costs, though the administration suggests long-term benefits.
Despite uncertainty, Bay Area markets, including Santa Cruz, saw strong activity through March 2025, with increased sales volume, more active listings, and notable price reductions. However, closed-sales data still reflects pre-shock conditions, making it a lagging indicator of recent economic shifts. |
