WSJ Ranked Among America's Best Teams
|
So far in 2022, Bay Area real estate markets appear largely unfazed in spite of much adversity: The tragedy in Ukraine, the interest rate hike of .25% on March 16, the prospect of a possible recession, many companies and employees still fine-tuning their remote/work-from-home arrangements, and the world financial markets' extreme volatility. Yet almost implausibly, the prevailing dynamic in our local market is strong buyer demand and not enough supply. Multiple offers, fierce overbidding, fast sales, and upward pressure on home prices remain the norm. That is not to say that some buyers haven't been negatively impacted by recent declines in stock portfolios; and some buyers and sellers have become more hesitant or paused their plans, awaiting more clarity amid recent developments. Not enough, however, to move the needle on the fundamentally very-high-demand/very-low-supply conditions which dominated 2021. 2022 is starting out to be more of what we saw in 2021. If you are thinking of selling your property, now is a good time

What is happening in our market is more complex than we can communicate in the following charts. Reach out to us for more information. We love to discuss the nuances that make our market so unique.
|
Our short supply of homes has led to multiple offers and overbidding, though not like the levels seen in 2018.

Video On Demand | March 26-28
Set in a future where water is worth its weight in gold in San Francisco, a terrible water shortage caused by a 20-year drought has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public restrooms, regulated by a single malevolent corporation, the UGC or Urine Good Company which profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. More information can be found here.
