Build Habits. Create Change.

Compass New England,

As we close out Black History Month, we at JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council) are excited to launch the 21 Day Racial Equity Goal within our employee and agent community.

Learning more about the role the real estate industry has played in perpetuating inequity, especially in regards to redlining and its lasting impact, has inspired us to share this opportunity with the greater Compass community and cultivate effective social justice habits together.

Kicking off on February 28, 2022, this 21 Day

habit-forming opportunity creates a path down

self-education toward creating a more just and equitable community. Learn more here.

About The Program

An initiative created by Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr., the 21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge sets out to help participants create successful and lasting habits that empower them to become more effective players in the quest for equity and justice.

For 21 days, take one small action to further your understanding of power, privilege, supremacy, oppression, and equity, and how it specifically impacts real estate. The plan includes suggestions for podcasts, videos, readings, and more.

Making a Difference

JEDI partnered with some of our local agents to debut the program. Here's what some of them had to say:

"The 21 Day Challenge enriches my daily life, from noticing my own resistance to "doing the work" to slack-jawed amazement at the things that I didn't know about this country's history and my fellow citizens' lived experiences."

- Bruce Irving

“I really liked the 21-Day Challenge in that it gave me a large selection of things to read, listen to, watch, experience, etc, in small bites… It was a great way to get to know my staff colleagues better as humans, not just people who make my

work life so easy, and it quickly entered into

my consciousness so that I was noticing many things in the "real world" that related to race, equity, etc—and not always in a depressing way!”

- Liz Lyster

"I am and always will be a catalyst for change."

- Shirley Chisholm

Ready, Set, Change.

Start: February 28, 2022

Discuss: Each Friday afternoon throughout the challenge, JEDI will host a 30-minute open discussion on what we have been learning and how we can continue to impact our greater community. Find the invite on the Agent Calendar New England!
