Conventional wisdom suggests that when mortgage rates rise, home prices fall. The logic is as straightforward as it is obvious: as borrowing becomes more expensive, fewer people can afford to buy, so prices must drop to fill the gap. Conversely, when rates fall and affordability improves, buyers compete with one another to secure a deal, and prices tend to rise. (FORBES).
