When my children were young, I cherished volunteering at their elementary school. Spending time in the classroom was always a joy, but the most fulfilling experience was chairing the Education Foundation Auctions. Organizing donations and creating both online and live auctions was a lot of work but witnessing the substantial funds raised for the school was incredibly rewarding. As my kids grew older, my opportunities to volunteer at the school diminished until I joined the Athletic Boosters at Monte Vista High School. I now chair the silent auction for their annual crab feed. This year's event is scheduled for March 1st, and incredible baskets have been pouring in. For the past two years I've organized tables for the basketball parents so we can enjoy a night together and celebrate the end of the season. I'm eager to see how much we will raise for our athletic program this year! What is your passion?

What I'm Seeing In the Market

I've noticed a definite increase in inventory over the past month. The number of homes available on the broker's tour is finally expanding, and it's exciting to see properties at various price points coming to market. I recently had the opportunity to assist my hairdresser's fiancé in selling his house in Walnut Creek. Once I had the signed listing agreement, I listed the property as a Private Exclusive, providing Compass agents and clients with early access. I was able to secure a strong offer even before the house was officially listed on the MLS. This suggests to me that the market is beginning to heat up again. Just last week, I arranged a pool inspection for a home I plan to list in March, and the inspector mentioned he's been extremely busy lately. My home inspector and stager have echoed similar sentiments. I'm eager to see what new opportunities arise in the coming weeks.
