| | Black Gold is taking stage today only at The Bug Theatre. It offers up a one-of-a-kind experience inspired by the history and lived experiences in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood. Weaving together stories centered on identity, belonging, and resilience using personal narratives and viewed through an intimate and emotionally driven lens. This performance is intended to be raw, full of hard truths and powerful questions and leave those who are there to witness it, transformed. |

| | Colorado’s dry climate shapes how people think about outdoor spaces and water consumption. Here xeriscaping (not zero-scaping) goes well beyond rocks and cactus. Curious about creating a beautiful, low-water yard filled with native plants, colorful grasses, and thoughtful design that can still feel lush and inviting? Start here. These guides touch on the practical side, from soil prep and plant selection to ways xeriscaping can lower maintenance and reduce water use. It’s an approachable look at how sustainable landscaping can feel warm, vibrant, and distinctly Colorado. |

| | Denver’s Pride celebrations return next month with a packed calendar of parades, concerts, dance parties, art events, drag brunches, community gatherings, and outdoor festivals happening across the city throughout June. Alongside longtime traditions like the Pride 5K, parade, and PrideFest, this year’s lineup includes everything from queer hiking meetups and cookouts to large-scale music events and drag shows. Organizers are expanding programming across more neighborhoods and venues throughout the city, giving the celebration an even bigger community feel this year. It’s shaping up to be a vibrant and joyful month! |

| | I know I write A LOT about Colorado, I love my home state. I am also a traveler, adventurer and love a good escape! My recent sibling trip to the Taos New Mexico area included a stay at historic Ghost Ranch, a soak at Ojo Caliente and full immersion in Georgia O'Keeffe country. Just a short drive from Colorado, the New Mexico desert slows everything down and pulls you into a more present way of being. Between wide open landscapes, time unplugged, and intentional self-care, the trip became a true creative reset. Inspired by the colors and quiet of the desert, I tried something completely new for the first time: watercolor painting! Yes, these are my originals, and while I may not have successfully channeled an inner Georgia O’Keeffe, I certainly fueled my creative center and fully enjoyed the getaway. |
