| House-flation is accelerating.... price gains in November pushed the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller index to its 18th consecutive high. In a measure of 20 cities, New York posted the biggest annual gain, followed by Chicago and Washington. A national gauge of prices rose 3.8% from a year earlier, larger than the 3.6% annual increase in October. (Bloomberg) |

| The Fed left its overnight borrowing rate at 4.25%-4.5%. Investors had anticipated this pause after three consecutive cuts since September 2024. Inflation remains somewhat elevated. The unemployment rate has stabilized at a low level in recent months, and labor market conditions remain solid.
