Congratulations to JPM client and author, Brad Snyder, on his new book!

In 1932, Angelo Herndon, a young Black Communist organizer, was arrested for possessing radical literature and charged with inciting insurrection, a capital crime. "You Can’t Kill a Man Because of the Books He Reads" details his 5-year fight for freedom, supported by allies like attorney Benjamin J. Davis Jr., historian C. Vann Woodward, and writers Ralph Ellison, Langston Hughes, and Richard Wright. Their efforts helped Herndon become a key figure in advocating for the right to protest.
