Can you believe that we are halfway through January? I hope that this year is off to a wonderful start for you.
I wanted to share a little story from earlier this week. I was getting ready to head to San Francisco with my Mom, Susan. I received a very touching email from my Sonoma Office Sales Manager, Jill Silvas, congratulating me on my first Compassversary. I thanked her and let her know that I am living out my dream of finally being an agent and this Compassversary date couldn’t have been more special. Twenty-two years to the day, my Father passed away tragically due to complications of a motorcycle accident. At that point in my life I was attending college in San Luis Obispo and felt confused as to what to do next. I moved home to Morgan Hill and considered going to work for a family friend’s real estate office. Instead, I enrolled in Academy of Art University in San Francisco shortly thereafter. I thought that using my artistic abilities in a career (that were passed on from my Dad,) I would find my passion again, but it was not the right time for art and marketing for me. Little did I know that I would end up moving to Napa Valley, spending the next half of my life in the wine business and then moving to Sonoma. After all the twists and turns, I decided that it was time to finally take the leap of faith, to go after the career that I had put on hold my entire adult life. To all of those starting new things this year, you are seen and I hope that you find your joy too!

I love the beginning stages of a new listing. Becoming the project manager for my client, and the buzz of all of the behind the scenes work is something that fuels my fire. With that said, you are the only ones getting a sneak peek of the before photo of a home that I currently have as a pocket listing, getting ready to put on the market in Hidden Valley in Santa Rosa.

With interest rates on the decline, my Client decided to jump on the opportunity to buy. My colleague Sharon Langord and I were able to help her to close in 18 days, right before Christmas on a condo in Sonoma. It took the village of our wonderful lender, John Sutherland from OriginPoint, the listing agent, our Title & Escrow team at Fidelity and the exceptionally on point Buyer to pull off this feat. If you're debating about when is the right time to purchase a home, the very first thing that you want to do is to get in touch with a lender to see when the time may be right for you!

Today, on MortgageNewsDaily.com, the average for a 30 year fixed is at 6.69%, and a jumbo loan is at 6.98%. "The much-anticipated Consumer Price Index (CPI) was released this week. For those seeking evidence that inflation will soon be back at the Fed's target level, it wasn't the triumph it might have been. Even so, rates managed to move lower."
