We
What is the worst day of each year? If you polled 100 people, the general concensus would likely be that April 15th is the least liked day of the whole year: TAX DAY. I don't think there is a soul that ever existed that took joy from writing over substantial checks to Uncle Sam. But it is what it is and I think we all breathe a small sigh of relief once we are over the hump of April 15th each year.
There's one thing that seems to have a universal ability to create worry, stress, and anxiety in the lives of every human: finances. Having a sense of control over our finances creates an illusion of security in our lives and we all can appreciate having a sense of stability and security. This is why we hate tax day- giving our "security" away. It's also why many of the recent headlines regarding the international trade tariffs recently imposed by the American government has also seemed to stir up a good deal of anxiety due to worries about the financial impact they will possibly have.
Obviously we can't control what is beyond our reach. But, we can look for opportunities to choose to not ruminate on the possibility of doom-and-gloom. What is one way we can do that when it comes to real estate?
For one, choose to look at just the facts. Examine the raw numbers that show what is actually happening in your local market. Not what is projected to happen, or what we fear might happen, or what the media's crystal ball is almost promising will come to be. Live in reality, not prognostication. Look at the most recent market data in the charts below and take a sigh of relief: the reality of our little bubble of a world we live in is actually quite stable, despite the salacious headlines that might lead you to believe otherwise.
Secondly, you can make intentional choices with how and where you spend your money. Are you hesitating to list your home because you know it needs updating and you're worried that the tariffs will make the cost of materials and appliances too great? Well there's an easy help for that: buy from companies that don't have the additional taxes imposed on them. Below, you'll find a couple of charts that list a few flooring companies and home appliance companies that are American made. Take a look, and then keep moving forward with your plans to sell without worry or hesitation.
And lastly, please ask me about the Compass Three Phased marketing plan that I can offer you when you are ready to list. Utilizing this process should be a reliable approach that results in the best outcomes for you, leaving you in the most attainably ideal financial position we could hope for.
