This is the first holiday weekend of the summer and marks the start of the best season of the year. I always feel a little teen age energy at this time of the year. A feeling of lightness, possibility, and renewal. The summer is a time when everything slows down and becomes less serious. The beach beckons, dining al fresco with friends and over priced rose. Memorial Day itself also has a serious side to remember those who came before and died, in service to America. As an immigrant the American dream is my reality, it has inspired so many people around the world and drawn them here, not just for a better life, but a way of life. So this weekend lets celebrate and remember all the good in this country. Eat dad's dry overcooked burger and wash it down with a bud light. |

After more than four years, fashion designer and film director Tom Ford has sold his ‘Cerro Pelon’ ranch in Santa Fe, designed by acclaimed Japanese architect Tadao Ando. the property, which encompasses 20,662 acres (or 32 square miles) of land in New Mexico, first hit the market in 2016 for $75 million (see previous coverage here). one of its most unusual features is the ‘Silverado movie town’, the iconic western movie town that was originally built as a set for the film ‘Silverado’ in 1985 and is part of the property. |
