Stocks Rise On Wall Street But Remain Lower For The Week
Stocks rose in afternoon trading on Wall Street Thursday, but remain lower for the week after five straight losses. The S&P 500 rose 0.7%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 183 points, or 0.6%, to 33,779 and the Nasdaq rose 1.1%. Tech-nology and healthcare companies had some of the biggest gains. Apple rose 1% and Pfizer rose 2.2%.
