Declutter for a higher sale price!

The value of staging a home is undeniable, but that's not always an option.

The next best thing? Decluttering. Clutter is a distraction to prospective buyers, who may not be able to focus on the best features of your home. Instead they might think:

• There's not enough space—this home is small and has no storage.

• This place needs work! It will probably cost a lot to make it livable.

• I’ll bet no one else can see what lies beneath, so I'll offer less.

When you shop at an expensive store, the space is clean and simple. When you enter a messy, cluttered store, you expect a lower price point. Selling a house is no different—be Chanel, not the Dollar Store.

We know decluttering can be overwhelming. For guidance, as well as names of pros who can help, please drop us a line.

Educate Yourself: Fair Housing

Every April, the National Association of Realtors commemorates the passage of the Fair Housing Act of 1968, which protects people from discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability.

Implicit bias is often a manifestation of muscle memory. A go-with-your-gut unconscious choice, act, or opinion with immeasurable consequences that can–and have–impacted generations. We take time each year to recommit ourselves to the expansion of housing fairness throughout our neighborhoods and beyond.

In this blog post we explore some of the many ways you can educate yourself about housing discrimination. And most importantly: If you suspect you are a victim of discrimination, we want to help. Please reach out.
HMMM...MAYBE THEY SHOULD LOCK THOSE UP

May is Bike Month

There are so many good reasons to ride a bike: it's better for the environment, great for your health, often faster than driving (with no parking woes!), and just plain fun. May is National Bike Month, and our team member Rebecca has been waxing poetic about her trusty wheeled steed.

Read Rebecca’s blog for inspiration, then saddle up and join us on some of Boston's nicest paths. By the way, May is also Mental Health Awareness Month, and biking is a great way to get those natural endorphins flowing!

Q1 2021 Market Report

We recently closed out the first quarter of 2021, and Greater Boston is still seeing a strong seller's market. Driven by a lack of inventory, low interest rates, and pent-up demand, those looking to change their living situation are entering a very competitive buyer pool.

We pride ourselves on helping our buyer clients prevail in multiple bidding situations—give us a ring to find out how we do it (hint: Ellie has the magic touch).
