Zillow, Facing Big Losses, Quits Flipping Houses and Will Lay Off a 25% of Its Staff. In all the company lost nearly $330 million in the third quarter. The company made a $40 million profit in the same period a year ago. On Tuesday, Zillow has exited the business of rapidly buying and selling houses amid heavy losses and a plan to let go about nearly 25 percent of its employees. (Full Story) |

Eric Adams is Elected Mayor of NYC Eric Adams, a former cop who climbed from poverty in Queens to become a fierce voice for frustrated working-class voters, was elected the second Black mayor of New York City on Tuesday, positioning him to lead a city confronted by cascading COVID challenges. In a Supertall Tower, How Much Affordable Housing Is Enough? The 80-story project at 130 Liberty Street, a publicly owned property known as Site 5, would include 1,200 apartments — of which 25 percent, or 300 units, would be permanently rented at below-market value — as well as office, retail and community space. Brookfield Properties and Silverstein Properties could begin construction in 2023, if approvals are met. (Full Story) |

Meet Liam Smith |
|
Liam is a student at The Parsons School of Design at The New School. He is pursing Architectural Design and has a creative eye unlike others. On his academic year off, he joins us full force while exploring his creative talents and interests. Liam joined MET on Valentine's Day 2019, the first intern that would help our growing team. While in the city, Liam helped style and stage many apartments with Shawn Wilson. Liam can see space and the potential it holds. Liam now works from home in Cincinnati, Ohio alongside the Marketing and Operations with Jarod Salinas-Dick. His fresh perspective and talents bring another excellent tone to harmony of the Martin Eiden Team.
