To buy a home during the holidays... I'd love to share my most recent and favorite story about the surprise real estate transaction I was fortunate enough to be apart of! My client, Rob reached out in the middle of September looking to find the perfect home for him while considering room for his two children that live with their Mom but might spend quite a bit of time at Dad's house. While Rob was very temporarily living with a friend and didn't have his own living arrangement, he got very excited over the idea of having a place for himself and his kids, Presley & Chase.
With the lack of inventory in the start of Q4, we patiently waited until the right home came along. It took until the beginning of November to get under contract on the picture perfect property for Rob. This meant a 45 day close that would land about a week before Christmas! It was Rob's idea to keep the property a secret from Presley and Chase until after closing.
Two days after closing, on December 19th, we did a "fake showing" of the property where Rob showed up with Presley & Chase and pretended they were interested in purchasing. Throughout the showing, Rob's kids gave reassurance to their Dad that they could see themselves living here. At the end of the showing, everyone opened a mysterious "letter from the sellers for the holidays" on the counter that turned out to have a key in the envelope saying "welcome home". They caught on instantly and then started the joyful tears and lots of hugs.
This story is what makes my "job" so special and easy to love. Being apart of this will put a smile on my face forever. It was such a pleasure to help my client, Rob, and I congratulate his family on their new home! (:
