Real Estate & Local Newsletter ♦ January 2022

There’s never been a year quite like 2021, and in Real Estate, it’s a different game out there. Listing your home for sale during the winter was previously thought to be a disadvantage, but in today’s competitive market it can be a powerful differentiator. Home prices have continued to trend upward in most communities as inventory constraints continue to support those market fundamentals. The Real Estate market will continue to set price records as interest rates are expected to remain affordable.

KELLY'S KORNER

Q: How will home staging affect my selling price?

A: Usually, staged homes end up selling for the listing price or even above it. Staged homes have a higher perceived value. Not staging your home will make it look like it needs more work. This often leads to deductions for repairs so buyers have room to make improvements.

SF HISTORY

The Winchester Mystery House is a mansion in San Jose, California, that was once the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of firearms magnate William Wirt Winchester. Since its construction in 1886, the property and mansion were claimed by many to be haunted by the ghosts of those killed with Winchester rifles.
