Sue's News and Views

March 2022

Dear All,

As Spring approaches, the first two months of 2022 have performed extremely well in the Manhattan real estate markets, hopefully, an indicator of a strong Spring and year ahead. Signed contract volume remains consistent with 2021 at this time of the year and an improvement in January, regardless of the Omicron surge, a Russia-Ukraine War, Turbulent Equity Markets, and soaring inflation.

With rents rising, NYC is - still - a place for investments. Take a peek into the local Rental Market report, below.

These are the TOP 10 most expensive cities in the USA to rent a 2-bedroom apartment: San Francisco, New York, Boston, Miami, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Diego, Fort Lauderdale, and Oakland.

Nationally, $1.21 trillion worth of property sold in the U.S. in 2021, dwarfing the $1.17 trillion recorded in 2006 and $1 trillion in 2007 in the two years leading up to the Great Recession. In 2021, existing-home sales totaled 6.12 million – an increase of 8.5% from the prior year and the highest annual level since 2006 (Corelogic).

Women's History month has begun and on March 8 International Women's Day is celebrated. Not just in March, but all year round I stand in awe of what women accomplish day by day - their endurance, courage, sense of community, innovation, resilience, knowledge, creativity, kindness and  fierce love, often against all odds. My admiration goes out to all mothers, fighters, entrepreneurs, politicians, caretakers, judges, teachers, craftspeople, doctors and nurses, employees, scientists, businesswomen, artists, and unwavering supporters of so many people around them.

Women rock - they deserve to been seen and heard.

Don't know how you're feeling - I'm ready for spring!

Warm regards,

sue

So, what exactly is the metaverse? Technologists say the metaverse is the next level of the internet. It’s a virtual reality platform where people can play games, connect with friends, attend meetings, and even go to virtual concerts. But h

New Yorkers might know their city like the back of their hand, but there are some hidden pockets of NYC still to be discovered.

There's always something new taking the place of something old in NYC, but luckily for us, there's still a plethora of old places to explore, you just have to know where to look.

From historic residential groves and tiny roads that have been left behind by the require-ments for vehicle traffic to alleyways that were only used for horses and carriages back in the day, this is a part of New York City that will delight you.
