Q4 Brooklyn Market Info

The Brooklyn market is settling down after the pandemic-induced frenzy that began the summer of 2020. 

In Q4, the number of sales dipped 12.7% compared to the previous year and 14.3% quarter-to-quarter. The co-op market saw the most significant decline – 21.7% fewer trades and double-digit price drops year-over-year. Buyers favored condos and houses, and prices were up for both to prove it

Mortgage Interest Rates Are Lower Than You Think

That's good news for buyers and sellers. This week we saw rates of 4.85% for a 30-year fixed jumbo loan, the kind of loan a New Yorker would probably take out on anything from a one bedroom co-op on up. If you only relied on what you saw in the media, you'd think that current interest rates are over 7%.
