The Unemployment Rate Has Dropped To A Half-Century Low

The U.S. economy has now recouped the 22 million jobs lost early in the pandemic. The job recovery took nearly 2½ years. Jobs grew faster than any other post-WWII period when the economy began contracting, official figures show. It added 528,000 jobs in July.

Markets Rise for Fourth Straight Week as Investors Warm to Cooler Inflation

The averages have been boosted by positive news on the inflation front. The consumer price index was flat from June to July, thanks in large part to falling gas prices, which lowered headline inflation. The producer price index showed a surprise decline. On Friday, import prices also fell more than expected.

Migration Hits All-Time High In The U.S.’s Shifting Housing Market

Migration in the U.S. is at an all-time high as buyers look for more affordability amid rate hikes and economic uncertainty. Last month, 33.7% of Redfin.com users were searching in another metro area, the most since 2017. That's up from 32.6% in the second quarter and about 26% before the pandemic. (Full Story)
