Katie Townsend

As the team leader of the Prime Team Realtors, Katie Townsend has a genuine passion for real estate and is our enthusiastic leader. Her enjoyment of sales and working with people lead her to pursue a career in real estate, and she now has over fifteen years of knowledge in her field. Katie loves assisting buyers in finding the home that is perfect for them and seeing the excitement they experience as they close on their new property. She also delights in helping sellers showcase their treasured property and find a buyer who appreciates and adores it as much as they have.

Katie is college-educated and continuously pursues up-to-date training in real estate, which is highlighted by her esteemed designation of Master Graduate, REALTOR® Institute. She is a member of the Residential Real Estate Council and has their prestigious designation of Certified Residential Specialist (RRC/CRS). Katie also has numerous other certifications and designations, including Commitment to Excellence Endorsement (C2EX), Military Relocation Professional (MRP), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS), Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR), Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA), Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®), and Real Estate Collaboration Specialist–Divorce™ (RCS-D). In addition, she is a graduate of the highly regarded Academy of Real Estate Advancement (A.R.E.A.), a Tennessee REALTORS® Leadership Program.

Loyal and conscientious, Katie actively volunteers in the professional community as a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, Tennessee REALTORS®, and Central West Tennessee Association of REALTORS®. She serves on numerous committees within these real estate groups; currently, she holds positions with Tennessee REALTORS® as Divisional Vice President for her region and Central West Tennessee Association of REALTORS® as Immediate Past President (2020). Katie is also a firm believer of affordable homeownership, homeowner rights, and ensuring homeowners have a voice in the political arena. She better serves her clients as a major investor in the advocacy side of real estate through the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC); her dedication was recognized in 2021 when she was inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame.

Having a kind and supportive spirit, Katie fiercely values loving and contributing to the community that has captured her heart. She is diligent as an officer in the Lexington Civic League and a member and former president of the Lexington Rotary Club. She is also involved with the Decatur County Schools Advisory Board and the Miss Parsons Pageant Board of Directors. Originally from Mississippi, Katie became smitten with West Tennessee and chose it as her home over twenty years ago. She currently lives in Darden with her husband David and their four dogs. She enjoys trying new recipes and playing on the family farm.
