Allison Auman Smith brings a unique combination of multi-generational Moore County roots and executive-level corporate experience to every client she serves. Before joining The Foundry Group at Compass, Allison spent over 15 years excelling in both corporate and public sector environments — beginning in Washington DC where she worked for a NC congressman, moving into defense manufacturing in Raleigh, and culminating in an executive communications and public relations role at Boeing. She has extensive experience managing board-level communications, executive strategy, as well as both internal and external messaging for one of the world's largest companies. Allison's background is a natural fit for real estate. Years spent translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives — and staying composed under the pressure of C-Suite and political environments — now serve her clients directly. Whether guiding a first-time buyer through an unfamiliar process or advising a seasoned seller on positioning a property, Allison brings the same precision, discretion, and calm, capable presence that defined her corporate career. Allison is a true native of the Sandhills. Born and raised in West End, NC, she now lives in Southern Pines with her husband, an active-duty service member, their wonderful daughter, and their handsome little Australian shepherd, Sammy-boy. Both sides of her family have deep roots in Moore County, dating back to the 1800s — the Aumans of West End and the Pages of Aberdeen — giving her an unusually thorough understanding of this region's history, neighborhoods, people, and land. She cares deeply about land conservation and thoughtful and discerning development. She also has lifelong familiarity with the in’s and out’s of forestry management plans, making her a valuable resource for clients navigating land, acreage, and rural property decisions. Her personal interests inform her professional expertise. An enthusiastic supporter of local farmers and business owners, she and her family are regulars at the area’s various farmers markets and small businesses, and seriously prioritize keeping every dollar they spend as local as possible. Allison’s lifelong love of residential architecture, design, and vintage furniture led her and her husband to the restoration of their mid-century modern home, which was featured in Moore County’s local magazine, The Pinestraw. Allison approaches every client relationship as a partnership, combining polished professionalism with genuine, first-hand knowledge and truly local experience of the market.
