"In New York, if we buy or sell residential real estate in the future, we will only contact one agent: Ami Rothschild. Ami was our buying agent in a highly unusual situation: we live abroad and knew the condo we wanted to buy because we had once lived in the same building and had kept watching that particular building online. We contacted Ami after we already knew the condo we wanted had come onto the market (the day before). She represented us in this extremely competitive environment that is Manhattan real estate: she filled us in on the comparative market and had us consider comparative properties (both in general in Manhattan and specifically in the neighborhood where we were going to buy), she “got it” that we were determined to buy our NYC condo in the building we’d already stayed in (i.e. we were “unusual” clients), she helped us through the obscure offer process (there were 12 other offers) and, perhaps most importantly, she helped us strategize our offers — an initial offer and, a few days later, a “best & final” offer among the 12 parties who’d made initial offers like us.
