Amy volunteered for Furkids Animal Rescue from 2020-2021, and it remains close to her heart.

Furkids, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization that operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for rescued dogs.

Each year, Furkids rescues more than 5,000 homeless and abandoned animals providing them with the best medical care and nurturing environment while working to find them a forever home. More than 600 animals are in the Furkids program today, in the Furkids shelters, 8 PetSmart and Petco adoption centers, and over 600 foster homes in the Atlanta area. Furkids also operates five thrift stores, which fund approximately 30% of their lifesaving work.

About Amy
Amy Hornsby fell in love with real estate while living in Savannah, GA after she earned a B.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from The University of Mississippi. She moved to Atlanta in 2019, and has been wearing many different hats behind the scenes in the real estate industry since then. Excellent attention to detail and a passion for learning have led Amy to a range of experience in marketing and operations within the Atlanta real estate market.

Amy now serves as Operations Manager for Team Meg Garrido, and is integral to the team's round-the-clock client care. It's not uncommon for her to meet a contractor for an estimate or show properties when Meg and Lauren need additional support. She takes a high-level view of all of Team Meg Garrido's listings and buyers, ensuring that properties are ready, paperwork is complete, and marketing is initiated in advance of our listings going live. Once under contract, Amy makes sure that everyone is on the same page when it comes to deadlines and deliverables.

Amy also manages the team's YouTube Channel, Social Media platforms, and overall web presence, keeping content consistent with the team and overall Compass brand image.

In her free time, Amy enjoys exploring nature trails in the city and trying new restaurants with her husband.
