"When we decided in the Spring of 2019 to relocate back to the US after my international assignment, my firm's relocation service provider recommended Ani Messikian's service to help us find a new home. Ani is a certified international relocation advisor, which I understand only highly experienced agents are qualified for. But the certification doesn't even begin to tell you what a wonderful agent Ani is. First of all, she is super responsive. We were still overseas when we first contacted her, so we had to rely on email/text to communicate. Yet our communication didn’t miss a beat despite of being in different time zones, because Ani was always accessible and invariably got back to us quickly. Secondly, she is a good listener and strives to truly understand client needs. We had to start screening for properties before we were physically on the ground, so we relied heavily on Ani for the property search after explaining to her what we were looking for at what price range. Her recommendations were typically spot on, and instead of just handing over a list, she always added thoughtful commentaries to guide us. It helps too that Ani has a great perspective on the local market, being a long-time Bergen County resident and knowing the neighborhoods in Ridgewood/Glen Rock area like the back of her hand! Thirdly, Ani truly goes the extra mile for clients. When we needed help checking for underground oil tank, she found us a reputable testing company and scheduled appointment on our behalf as quickly as possible. When we had difficulty getting the seller to respond to our inquiry, she proactively went to the township and obtained records which answered our question. And lastly, certainly not the least, Ani is the consummate professional. She was not only masterful in her knowledge of the market, properties and the transaction processes, but also in how she dealt with all parties involved – respectful, honest, and professional. "My sister and I interviewed several real estate professionals prior to selecting Ani Messikian to sell our mothers home. Ani stood out among several agents due to her professionalism, sense of humor and her knowledge of the area. Since my sister and I both live outside of NJ, it was important for us to work with someone that delivered on promises made during our interviews. Without question, Ani over-delivered on her promises. Here are a few examples: - Should have listened to her suggested market value. We received 3 offers within a week of pricing based on her recommendation. - Agents often say "we have buyers interested in your home....." to get a listing. "We bought a house in Glen Rock, NJ with the help from Ani. Before choosing her, we had tried other agent who was great but didn't have specific knowledge about Glen Rock and she was surprised to see properties here going to bidding war. We made offer on 4 houses but none worked out. We had to move on rent since we couldn't buy considering our collective lack of knowledge(ours and previous agent's) of the area. That is when we looked into local agents records of buying and selling. We talked to Ani, felt comfortable in telling our needs and started our research again. She was always timely in sending listings, telling if it's a hot property or not, if it's a good investment or not, showing those as soon as those came in market, even before open houses. Finally, we liked a property, made an offer which initially got rejected because it was lower than the other offer. That is when her experience and local knowledge came into big play, she adviced a route, we all took our chances and made another better offer. Luckily, it got accepted this time, and we moved on to attorney review and then under contract. We knew that the process could be stressful when we are putting our terms; seller putting their terms; and communication between attorneys , agents, buyer and seller; inspections; appraisal; town requirements and what not . But I must say it went smoothly with Ani on top of everything, not loosing patience even when sellers agent was rude at times. Finally we have a house that we love.
