About Betty Jo
Living: Growing up in a military family, Betty Jo Hibberd never lived in one place very long. Georgia-born, she went to kindergarten in Alaska, lived in Los Angeles while Disneyland was being built, started high school in Germany, and as a high school senior, landed in Media, PA to take care of her aging grandmother. She had finally found her home. College, marriage, children, career, widowhood, all occurred within the backdrop of Eastern Pennsylvania.

Working: Junior high teacher; family real estate business: sales, conveyancing, training, appraising; university: research assistant and masters degree student; mortgage lender: loan officer; database company for business librarians: customer service, training, director of marketing; Fortune 500 company: writer for company’s social media; and full circle, again in real estate sales with the family Nelson-Hibberd Team. Betty Jo has had a varied career, but throughout her work life, her real business has been helping people. It’s this common thread that has guided her choices and has made her so passionate today about selling real estate. Satisfaction comes for Betty Jo when she’s helping a first-time buyer find that first-time home; or making sure that the couple who is retiring gets to move with the least amount of stress possible; or having a previous client call her to find that next home or to refer a friend. That’s true happiness.

And Now: In 2013 Betty Jo moved back into her grandmother’s 1874 Victorian in Media, carefully placing the family heirlooms back into their rightful places. Tradition, home, finding your place, these are the principles that fuel her love of the real estate business.
